Does Olai need the internet?

No. Every entry is saved on your phone straight away. If you are signed in, Olai syncs in the background when you are back online.

Do I need an account?

No. Without one, your entries stay on this phone only. Sign in with Google (Settings) to back them up and use Olai on more than one phone; the entries already on the phone move to your account.

I have a new phone. How do I get my entries back?

Install Olai on the new phone and tap Already use Olai? Sign in with Google on the first screen, with the same Google account. Entries saved without signing in can't be moved: Olai doesn't use Android backups, so sign in on the old phone first to bring them along.

Can I track more than one currency?

Yes. Each book has its own currency. Olai never converts between them and never adds amounts across books.

Does Olai connect to my bank?

No. Olai only knows what you type in. It never asks for bank logins or card numbers.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Olai is on Android first; iPhone is planned.

How do I delete my data?

Signed in: Settings → Delete account. Not signed in: Settings → Remove data from this phone. See how to delete your account.

About the name

Olai (ஓலை) is the palm leaf on which accounts were written by hand in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
